RSS is classified in descending quality from RSS1, RSS2, RSS3, RSS4, RSS5. Classification of smoked sheets is done by appearance method: RSS1 type (no bubbles, no dust, no stains). RSS2 type (small bubbles, no dust, no stains). RSS 3,4,5 types (more and more bubbles but no dust, no stains).
INTERNATIONAL STANDARD RSS5
- Accepting small amounts of resin (rust) and dry mold on the packaging, on the surface of the bales and inside the rubber sheet.
- If the amount of resin “rust” or “dry mold” is more than 30% on the sampled bales, it will not be accepted.
- Large bark chips, air bubbles and small dents/blisters, stains, over-smoking, slightly soft and sticky, defects of the size shown in the sample are acceptable. Slightly unevenly cooked sheets are acceptable.
- Unfirm, over-heated, scorched, or oxidized spots or streaks are not acceptable.
- Rubber must be dry, firm, free from dents/blisters, except for defects shown in the sample. Packing dirt, sand, and other foreign matter in excess of the permitted amount are not acceptable.
